It Started With A Piece of Chalk.
In 2013, our founder and his friends got kicked off the side street they used to play street hockey on. Carrying two heavy nets back and forth was getting old. So one day, instead of lugging the second net, he chalked a goal onto a wall.
It worked. And it raised a bigger question: why do communities spend millions building new sport facilities when a wall and a piece of chalk can be a court?
That idea grew into Sportswalls in 18 Ontario schools, classroom tools used by teachers across North America, and free Saturday games at Sorauren Park. Backed by Jumpstart, ParticipACTION, the Government of Canada, and three Ontario school boards.
We're still chalking walls. Still showing up at parks. Still asking the same question: how many more places could be a court if someone just decided to make it one?
"I am thankful that you guys are doing these Get Active N Play Saturdays. I wouldn't have been able to play pickleball or make any new friends if this wasn't a thing. Keep it up, this is a great program."
